Well what a year it has been here at Sputnik Jewellery! I've just uploaded my final collection of year - returning back to what inspires me, can I introduce the Industry collection? Harking back to our industrial heritage (I'm a Midlands girl remember) I've been making cogs. Not just any cogs though - these are made from a gorgeous chunky textured silver and set with cubic zirconias - a real juxtaposition of hard edged shapes and jewells traditionally used in more delicate jewellery.
The collection was first displayed three weeks ago in a lovely gallery in Weston-super-Mare and was quite popular with the visitors. It was my first serious gallery showing (with my friends at #codenameoctopus) and I have to say I loved it. We will be exhibiting again in February - the working title of the exhibition will be The Other Half. I have so many ideas regarding a small collection for this event, so watch this space! Anyway, I hope you like the new collection - I think it really represents me and my style of jewellery.
On a very exciting note, work is taking place on my studio today! I work in a very small studio at the end of my garage. It's my favourite space and very creative, but on dark winter days the light isn't great. But yes, you guessed it, I'm having a window put in. It's a Christmas present to me, from me. I had to tidy up my main desk before the builders arrive. it took me so long - jewellery is a messy job. I'm hoping this will encourage me to keep things more tidy - we will see!
Right then, back to admin for me and thanks for reading!
